Whitepaper: Model Development for Cutting Optimization in High-Performance Titanium Machining

This technical paper was developed based on testing performed by Makino's titanium process research and development group. Its in-depth analysis of cutting forces in the machining of titanium provides readers with an analytical cutting-force model for milling processes in Ti64 that enhances predictability of cutting forces. Physical experimentation is used to verify that the proposed theoretical modeling can achieve optimum cutting conditions that maximize both productivity and tool life.
